Forget pricey pet food, human meals are better and cheaper.

Hard to disagree with the basic message, but its unlikely a tin of salmon would provide a balanced diet, it would be missing the bone and offal content for a start, and you would need to check the additives and preservatives used are safe too.
Human food is the best alternative. But care should be taken that you don’t give anything to your dog which can harm him as some of the human foods are dangerous for a dog’s digestive system. Check out this important article about dangerous foods for cats and dogs.
Dogs have a more sensitive gut flora by a factor of 1000 so human food isn’t appropriate for dogs. Treats in small quantities are fine though and dogs will always love to eat our food!!
