A raw food feeding debate was held in April 2016. The debate took place at an international veterinary conference held by the British Small Animal Veterinary Association. Towerwood Vets have an article on the debate in their blog section. http://www.towerwoodvets.co.uk/a-pro-raw-food-feeding-debate/

An interesting article which highlights good points on all sides which with appropriate education and food source to safely and nutritiously feed both raw and homemade feeds for animals.
Points of note :
Source of meat shouldn’t be from abattoirs for human consumption
Meals should be varied and balanced to avoid potential health problems
Surfaces near and in contact with raw meat should be cleaned after meals
Raw, wet and dry have differing gut flora so mixing isn’t ideal.
Risks of impaction or contamination are disputed
