Recently I spotted huge bags of Bakers Dentacrunch in our local supermarket. It is a new product that is described as:

100% Complete & balanced With an active mineral to help reduce tartar built up by 36% Supports fresh breath Doggylicious.

Ingredients: Cereals, Meat and animal derivatives (8%* in the hoops ), Derivatives of vegetable origin, Vegetable protein extracts, Oils and fats, Minerals, Vegetables (discs : 0.6 % dried vegetables, equivalent to 4% vegetables), Yeasts.

*equivalent to 16% rehydrated meat and animal derivatives, with min. 4% beef.

Can anyone find the active mineral that reduces tartar?

and yet I hear so many customers telling me they use similar products and their dogs still get yellow build up on their teeth? do these products really work, especially with such high starch content that, along with other sugars, is one of the main causes of dental problems?

Just like ourselves I’ve found its necessary to brush their teeth daily to keep a step ahead of tartar buildup. I don’t believe what the dental chews claim to do since they are never hard enough to scrape away tartar even with regular use.
