A dog’s body needs dietary carbohydrates to help maintain and refill glycogen stores, Although the dog doesn’t have dietary needs for carbohydrates, they do have metabolic needs for glucose.

Although dogs don’t have nutritional demands for carbs, they do have metabolic needs for glucose. A dog’s body needs dietary carbohydrates to assist maintain and replenish glycogen reserves.
