Rescue dog food recommendations (possibly allergies)

Good morning. Collecting our new dog from a rescue centre on Sunday. He had been severely abused and was .malnourished. loads of dreadful things. He also had little.fur. they have done an amazing job but are concerned with allergies. Which dry food should I give him. I’ve watched so many videos. Gentle? Essential? Millies Wolfhesrt? He’s.a.Cane Corsa cross we think. Previously we used.a variety as our last dog got quickly bored. Many thanks.

Good morning! Congrats on welcoming your new dog. It’s wonderful that he’s getting a second chance at a loving home. For allergies, you might want to look into hypoallergenic or limited ingredient diets. Gentle and Millies Wolfheart are great options, especially with natural ingredients that can help manage sensitivities. You could also consider trying grain-free or single-protein foods to avoid common allergens. It’s fantastic that you’re considering variety, just be mindful of introducing new foods gradually to avoid any digestive upsets. Best of luck!

Hi,
Can i first say congratulations on your new family member and well done you for rescuing a beautiful dog that needs that little bit extra.
So i have a border collie and a dogue-de-bordeaux with allergies mainly chicken but my collie has skin allergies too.
I have him on AVA sensitive skin and stomach white fish and my dogue-de-bordeaux is on Arden Grange sensitive ocean fish puppy.
I found all problems stopped as soon as i changed them over to these foods, the itching and paw biting from my collie stopped within a few days and my dogue-de-bordeauxs tummy settled after a few days.
As your pup is going to be a large breed you need to make sure the food is correct for his weight.
Both of the foods i use are good to use for large breeds as they go up to 65/75 kg.

I hope this all helps and if not speak to your vet they will gladly help your find a food for him.

Good luck and enjoy your bundle of joy
