I made golden paste for my dog when he pulled his shoulder muscle. As I made far too much I started having golden milk using rice milk in the mornings replacing a cup of tea. The turmeric does have to be cooked in water to make it go paste like before adding the coconut oil and black pepper.

You can add the tumeric golden paste directly to your dog’s meals by mixing it with some water. Usually they don’t mind the taste at all! Several sources have recommended to start with 1/4 to 1/2 tsp depending on the size of your dog. Tumeric leaves the body quickly, so it’s best to feed smaller amounts a few times a day.
I made my first batch of Golden Paste yesterday using the recipe on the Dogs Naturally magazine. They advise that all ingredients should be organic and as I had no local shop to buy them from I had to order online. It was easy to make but the quantities are in cups so not quite as accurate as the one here on the Raw Feeding Rebels website. I will probably use that recipe next time.
There is far too much as I have small dogs who only require 1/4 teaspoon per day so have divided it up and frozen the separate portions. The girls have had their first dose today - the little one was not too keen on the taste and left a bit on the side of her bowl so I had to add water and some chicken to get her to finish it. Hope that it is going to keep them all healthy and well.
