Large Dry Biscuits & Billious Vomitting Syndrome

Hi All,

I feed my dogs (Maltese and Morkie) Akela dry kibble mixed with Healthy Heart tinned and they thrive.

However, my Maltese has billious vomitting syndrome and the kibble just doesn’t have the bulk to fill his tummy.

At the moment, I give them an 11pm snack (he gets 12 biscuits) and 6am snacks (4 more biscuits) of Bakers Meaty Meals. It’s terrible stuff, but it’s the only biscuit I can find with enough bulk. He’s also a bit of a fussy eater.

I bought forthgalde, thinking from the images it would be a bulky substitute, but I’ve wasted £30+. My other dog won’t even eat it.

Does anyone know of a bulky type biscuit, with plenty of volume and soft, like the Bakers, with a better nutritional rating? Closest I’ve seen so far is Platinum Chicken, but it’s gonna be another £30+ and storage is a pain for such a small amount each day, considering it’s 5kg and semi-moist. I can, obviously seal it in airtight containers though.

There’s HiLife Pets Pantry, meaty meals, but it’s not listed on this site.

Thanks!

Hi, have you tried wet food that you make into meatballs. You can get very soft wet meat that will give you this option.
I love doing this as treats for my 3 dogs with there dry biscuits or when people are visiting i hold back some dry food and make the meatballs as treats so they have something to look forward to.
They can be made in different sizes and are perfect instead of the biscuits.
Or you could try fish 4 dogs large kibble biscuits with some warm water to soften the kibble.
Good luck and i hope this helps.

Hi, Thanks for this. I’ve not tried meatballs, no. I’ll look into it. Sounds like an alternative. The only reason I currently give them soft dry biscuits is convenience - I can give them by hand, and it means I’m not washing their bowls at 11pm or 6am (I currently wash them before each of their two main meals). I’ll take a look at the Fish4Dogs. I need a bulky, soft biscuit. Thank you.
